Fred Thompson: We can't afford Obama

Former presidential hopeful Fred Thompson traversed Florida’s crucial Interstate-4 terrain Saturday to try to salvage Republican John McCain’s chances of carrying the vital swing state.

Speaking before a half-full banquet hall of GOP faithful at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort, the former actor and Tennessee senator said a Barack Obama presidency would “change the face of this country” with higher taxes and liberal judicial picks.

“There will be no stop-gap. Any amount of spending they want, any amount of taxes they want to pass,” he said.

“Do you really think if they have the ability and power when they go to Washington they’re going to only raise taxes on 5 percent of the American people?”
