Obama gains an edgeUSA Election 2008 Gallup Daily Americas Northern America PRINCETON, NJ -- The Sept. 14-16 Gallup Poll Daily tracking update shows Barack Obama regaining a slight, although not statistically significant, edge over John McCain, 47% to 45%, among registered voters, marking the first time since the week of the Republican National Convention that McCain has not held at least a one percentage point margin over Obama.
From a broad perspective, the race remains a statistical tie. But there has been a general drift towards Obama since McCain moved to a five-point lead over Obama through the weekend after the GOP convention.

The poll dosent show any shift from mccain to Obama , or any political gain to Obama due to his negative campaign, the american people like to punish to incumbentsv when there is a financial crisis, altough the bush admin is not to blame to this crisis, as nobody gave them the benefit the last 6 years of good economy, and altough John Mccain and sarah Palin are seen as reformers , the People are frustrated and seem to blame everything on the republicans, thats why the Dems benefit from any economic crisis , it has nothing to Obama;s harsh blams or his mixed and confused messages, Once people will think into it, and the Debates will be held, Mccain will have a chance to make his choice direct to the american public without any filters, and then they will have to choose between the same old broken promises and nice talk, to the Mccain/Palin team that will fight corruption, shake up washington ,and bring real change to America.
